Since it is offically now Autumn, the nights are starting to creep in on us earlier, but that didnt stop us from continuing our Thrusday evening ride. This week Simon plotted a route that took us from Dawlish, through Ashcombe and up to the Obelisk, along Haldon to Longsdown and into Exeter. This weeks riders were, Andy, Craig, Neil, Rob and Simon.
Once into Exeter we decided to stop at the Quay for a quick refreshment outside the Water Front before heading down past Double Locks and onto Turf Locks for our usual pub stop. After racing a maintenance train along Powderham Road, we thought it would be best for another quick stop at The Anchor in Cockwood.
Last Thursday25th August, saw Andy, Craig, Dave, Neil and Rob ride with the local Pedal Bashers. The meeting place was the Red Rock Brewery near Bishopsteignton, and involved a loop up and over Haldon and into Dawlish, heading along Ashcombe and up the steep climb to the roundabout by the A380. We then headed over Haldon towards the Golden Oak for a swift drink and then back to the Red Rock Brewery, where Shaun Nicks had provided a beautiful curry complete with bhajis, nann bread and samosa’s, washed down with some excellent Red Rock Brewery beer and Ale. Many thanks to Shaun, Red Rock Brewery, the Pedal Bashers and everyone who helped out for the evening.
Please let us know if you wish to come along on any furture rides.
