This week, in preperation for David and Simon’s October’s half term cycle ride from Santander to Paris, they thought we should up the miles and cycle from Dawlish to Crediton and back. The total milage for the ride was 53.4 miles with the shorter route for the new guys turning back at exeter.
On the ride this week, was Andy, Craig, David, Neil, Rob, Rob & Simon, with the new riders Ben, Shaun, Robin, Graham & Phil. Shaun, Robin, Graham & Phil decided to do the shorter route from Dawlish to the Lay Arms via Black Forest Lodge. Once we had made the journey to Exeter, we then followed the road to Ide, past Path Finder Village and into Tedburn St Mary before turning off to Crediton. Once at Crediton we had a quick pitstop for some hot drinks & biscuits at David’ in-laws before setting off through the lanes into Exeter.
Unfortuantley Craig only made it a few miles from Crediton before he came off his bike and broke his collar bone. The highlight of his evening was a ride in the amburlance to Wonford hospital before being released at 2:15am this morning. Damage to bike is unknown but pictures will appear shortley….
